Violin Playing: Playing Notes
When trying to learn violin you will have to learn to use your ears. When you are just plaing the open strings, and dont use your fingers on the finger board, you can simply play the string of the violin. And it will always have the right pitch, if the violin is tuned correctly.
But when you want to play other notes you have place your fingers on the finger board. In these violin lessons you will see that we can simply place the finger at a certain position on the finger board to get a certain note. But....... when your finger is just not completely at the perfection position on the violin the pitch will be off. So you could try and practice to place your finger at the right position. But since there are no markers or lines on the violin you can never tell if you have the right pitch. Even if you would have lines on the finger board your pitch can still be off.
