Matrox Ships DigiSuite MAX Realtime Editing Platforms

Matrox Video Products Group today announced that the Matrox DigiSuite MAX line of realtime editing platforms is now shipping worldwide. Incorporating realtime 3D DVE powered by the innovative new Matrox Flex 3D architecture, the Matrox DigiSuite MAX platforms deliver maximum editing power and creative freedom with more realtime features than any other on the market. They feature fully keyframeable realtime 3D effects and transitions, an additional 2D effects channel, two YUV colour correction channels, independent transparency control on all layers, 32-bit animated graphics, two advanced chroma/luma/matte keyers, and a customisable wipe/tile generator. DigiSuite MAX also brings other important benefits to streamline editing workflow and let users deliver in record time on tape, CD, DVD, and the web."Matrox DigiSuite MAX builds on the award-winning technology of the Matrox DigiSuite product line that has earned its reputation for quality and stability in over 25,000 broadcast, post-production, and corporate video facilities worldwide," said Spiro Plagakis, Matrox vice president of sales and marketing. Price and Availability Three Matrox DigiSuite MAX platforms are now available from authorised resellers worldwide. All three platforms share the same realtime editing and 3D effects architecture and advanced productivity tools. They all provide broadcast-quality analogue video and audio I/O, as well as optional SDI I/O, and are compatible with all standard video equipment. They differ only in terms of the compression formats used for editing. DigiSuite LX MAX provides native-DV and MPEG-2 I-frame 50 Mbps editing and is priced at EUR7,790 (Ł4,395) in Europe. DigiSuite DTV MAX provides native-DV, DV50, and MPEG-2 I-frame 50 Mbps editing and is priced at EUR10,395 (Ł5,770) in Europe. DigiSuite LE MAX offers M-JPEG image quality that rivals uncompressed editing solutions and is priced at EUR7,790 (Ł4,395) in Europe.
All DigiSuite MAX platforms include a complete content creation software bundle that consists of Adobe Premiere, Inscriber CG, Ligos LSX MPEG, Pixélan Video Spice Rack Lite, and Sonic Solutions DVDit! SE. Other realtime editing applications slated to support the Matrox DigiSuite MAX platforms include IMC Incite, in-sync Speed Razor, and United Media On-Line Express.
The MAX card is also available as an upgrade option, priced at EUR3,245 (Ł1,845) in Europe, to Matrox DigiSuite LX, DTV, and LE owners.
About Matrox Flex 3D Matrox Flex 3D is a fully programmable architecture that applies 3D texture mapping to video in real time using a Matrox 3D graphics accelerator chip and graphics memory. Motion video or graphics are treated as source textures and mapped onto polygon-based 3D shapes such as page curls, perspectives, and distortions. Broadcast-quality effects are achieved using special features that are built into the 3D-accelerator chip and exploited through the Flex 3D architecture.
