Blu Wave Audio New Harrison Digital SeriesTwelve Film Consoles for Digital Remastering

Harrison by GLW today announced the purchase by Universal Film Studios of two Digital SeriesTwelve film console systems for its Blu Wave Audio division.

Both Harrison Digital SeriesTwelve systems will be delivered at the same time. The first will be used to expand the Digital SeriesTwelve delivered to Blu Wave Audio in the fall of 2001. This expansion will increase the size of the control surface of the existing Digital SeriesTwelve in Mixing Studio B to almost thirteen feet with 48 input faders and 96 channels of full digital processing. The system features Harrison¹s remote I/O system with 280 AES and analog inputs and 168 AES and analog outputs with sample rate conversion on the AES inputs.

The second Digital SeriesTwelve console will become the centerpiece of the second feature room, Mixing Studio A, at Blu Wave Audio. The control surface of this Digital SeriesTwelve is more than fifteen feet long (including a producer¹s desk) with 32 Input faders controlling 96 channels of full digital processing. Harrison¹s remote I/O system is being utilized to provide 280 AES and A/D inputs and 168 AES and D/A signal outputs.

This expansion and second console for Blue Wave console join the three Harrison MPC consoles in Universal's main film dubbing theater increasing Universal's ownership of Harrison film consoles to five. Universal is the third Hollywood film studio to increase its ownership of Harrison film consoles to five or more. The control surfaces on the three MPC¹s installed in Universal's three main dubbing theater's are the world's largest consoles at nearly 33 feet in length!
