Matrox Announces support Sony IMX D10 and MXF File Format with new DigiSuite and DigiServe
Matrox Video Products Group today announced support for the Sony IMX (D10) tape/compression format and the MXF file format with new DigiSuite and DigiServer products designed for use in video servers, nonlinear editing systems, and automation and asset management equipment. The new cards will enable original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to create cost-effective systems that offer interoperability between different equipment and different applications for the transport of video, audio, and metadata in a networked environment.
"The seamless exchange and sharing of material is key to the transition of traditional television production to efficient computer-based environments," said Marco Lopez, Matrox director of products. "Thanks to the standardisation efforts of industry organisations such as EBU, SMPTE, AAF, and Pro-MPEG, the MXF format has emerged as the ideal interchange format to enable workflow efficiencies in news broadcasting, post production, asset management, and archiving applications. The fact that Matrox DigiSuite- and DigiServer-based product lines now offer support for the D10 and MXF formats means our OEMs can create systems that will work seamlessly with products from a growing list of industry leaders such as Sony, Leitch, and Quantel; who have all announced support for the MXF format."
The new Matrox DigiSuite DTV-D10 and Matrox DigiServer DTV-D10 cards and a complete Software Development Kit will be available to OEMs in Q4 2002.
