New and improved YFL-221 Standard flute model
Following a year of extensive study and research, Yamaha is pleased to introduce the YFL-221 standard model flute, which will replace the YFL-225S. This exciting new model incorporates many of the traditional strengths of the Yamaha standard flutes such as neoprene bumpers, 4-rib construction and the playability of more expensive models.
Along with these features, the YFL-221 now includes a new post design specifically to make this one of the most durable student flutes on the market. Other improvements include easier adjustment screw locations for hard to reach adjustments and new threading material to aid in keeping the adjustment screws tight and secured in place.
"It was great to talk to our customers and hear what they wanted in a beginning flute," commented product manager Kurt Witt. "Teachers want an instrument that simply doesn’t need constant daily adjustments before rehearsal. Yamaha is famous for listening to our customers and then responding with a new and innovative product, and the YFL-221 is the perfect example of this."
The standard model is also available in nickel-plated (YFL-221N) and open hole models (YFL-261 & 281) with either in-line G or offset G. For more information, visit Yamaha at Winter NAMM 2000, Petree Hall, Los Angeles Convention Center
