The modern manufacturing know-how that makes today's musical instruments of such fine quality is literally centuries removed from the traditional craftsmanship that gave ancient instruments their character. Yamaha Corporation of America, Band & Orchestral Division, introduces the YFL-894W and YFL-874W Custom Wood Flutes, a pair of thoroughly modern flutes designed to offer the contemporary sound that today's players demand, but with the traditional look and feel of wood. Yamaha's exclusive Grenadilla seasoning process brings the same quality to the flute body that artists have come to expect from Yamaha clarinets and oboes. "I am very excited about the new Yamaha wood flute! Available with an inline G or offset G mechanism and with a C or B footjoint, the YFL-894W and YFL-874W both feature a solid silver key mechanism.
