New brass mouthpieces
Yamaha Corporation of America, Band & Orchestral Division announces the addition of six new mouthpieces to its highly regarded line-up of Standard Series brass mouthpieces and the introduction of the Replica Series.
The six new Standard Series mouthpieces have larger cup diameters than previously offered, for their respective instrumentation. Designed to facilitate a large full sound, they will appeal to any player looking for improved projection. Two of the new French horn mouthpieces–AC HR33B and YAC HR34B–feature ‘V’ cups for players wanting a full, rich tone, while the other two–YAC HR34C4 and YAC HR35C4–feature ‘U’ cups for brighter tones. New large shank mouthpieces for trombone, baritone or euphonium–YAC SL54 and YAC SL55–are also available.
The new Replica Series of brass mouthpieces was born from conversations with dealers attending the Yamaha Sales and Product Training seminars held monthly in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Citing the popularity and reasonable prices for the Bobby Shew mouthpieces made with standard silver plate, "…dealer representatives from across the country encouraged us to consider making all of the Signature Series mouthpieces available in the more affordable silver plate," says Michael Schaner, accessories product manager. "We took their input to heart and the unique Replica Series is the result.
Each of the new models, as with all Yamaha brass mouthpieces, are made with a computer-aided-design and manufacturing process (CAD/CAM) which insures unrivaled precision and consistency. Band directors and players alike can appreciate that the Yamaha brass mouthpiece they recommended and/or used ten years ago is identical in every specification to the Yamaha brass mouthpiece produced this year.
Yamaha brass mouthpieces are also available with heavyweight gold plated rims and standard weight gold plated rims. In addition, Yamaha is the only manufacturer offering mouthpieces in sterling silver. Finally, the Signature and new Replica series of mouthpieces feature designs by our top professional players. This means that there are nearly 150 Yamaha brass mouthpieces to help you "Play the very best you can!"
