New Professional 600 and 700 series flutes from Yamaha
NASHVILLEBuilding upon a strong tradition of flute craftsmanship, Yamaha is pleased to offer new and improved professional flute models for the year 2000. The new 600 and 700 Series flutes from Yamaha signal the start of a uniform set of flute models worldwide, incorporating a new numbering system and several new features.
The new 600 Series Yamaha flutes will feature a solid silver headjoint, body and footjoint, in addition to French-style keys, while the new 700 Series flutes will add solid silver keys to the 600 Series specifications. The most notable improvement to these models is the introduction of the Yamaha original "Type 4" body and scale to this level of flute. The "Type 4" body, previously available only on the custom 800 Series Yamaha flutes, was designed with the orchestral player in mind to maintain a focused tone in every range, at any dynamic level. These new flutes feature an innovative tonehole design to provide precisely the right amount of air resistance for excellent tone color flexibility.
Standard on these instruments will be the increasingly popular EC style headjoint. The 600 Series models will be available as standard in both inline G (YFL-684H & YFL-784H), as well as an offset G. The offset G models (YFL-674H & YFL-774H) will also include a split-E mechanism.
