Yamaha YCR-8335S Bb and YCR-8620S Eb Xeno Cornet
Yamaha Corporation of America, Band & Orchestral Division, will debut the YCR-8335S Bb Xeno Cornet and YCR-8620S Eb Xeno Cornet, the first Yamaha Cornets in the Xeno line, at Winter NAMM 2006. Both were developed in conjunction with David King, cornet soloist and director of the Yorkshire Building Society Brass Band.
Yamaha YCR-8620S Eb Xeno Cornet
A replacement for the YCR-6335H(S), the YCR-8335S Bb Xeno Cornet is characterized by a more open, colorful sound and improved playability.
The leadpipe water key chimney is similar to the one used on the Artist Model trumpets, and enables more even resistance throughout all registers. A newly positioned first slide trigger improves comfort and ergonomics.
The YCR-8620S Eb Xeno Cornet is an 8000 series grade instrument and replaces the current YCR-6610(S)(T). It has a warmer, yet more present tone, and a more comfortably balanced playing resistance.
The YCR-8620S was designed for professional cornet performance in solo, chamber music and orchestral performance, offering better sound and playing feel. A thinner yellow brass one-piece bell improves resonance, and a newly designed bell shape and curved leadpipe with outer sleeve increases resistance and rich tone.

The YCR-8335S Bb Xeno Cornet and YCR-8620S Eb Xeno Cornet each include a hardshell double case and are currently available.
